translate function java

not too much, the syntax isn't really
xt xml-file xsl-file op-file a=b
it is
java some.thing.unmemorable=somethingelse some.java.class.name xml-file xsl-file op-file a=b

which means you always end up using a shell script/batch file wrapper
anyway and that can re-order the arguments as desired.

Compared with the inconvience of the fact that I can't use any of my
stylesheets using xt:node-set and xt:document on saxon without making
purely cosmetic syntax changes, the external order of arguments is
just a minor annoyance.
