IME, HTML IS the minimal grammar if by grammar you mean a tagged dataset. A box gencode approach a la Truly Donovan's grammar that spawned HTML is about as simple as it gets and still services enough up-translation to be minimally useful with the addition of the class attribute. We twirl between the polarities of specific names and general names while fixing the structures on the back end.
