I also  disagree with  the mathematical analogy and premiss.
Axioms are neither simple Nor universally agreed.
They are painstakingly invented 'out of thin air' as an ideally minimum basis out of which to build a more complex system.
they are not unarguably 'truths' ... More simply accepted as a point of discourse as 'atomic' for this particular group ... That is they are not derived from anything else.
But they are not 'truth' they are invented and declared by definition and in many real senses arbitrary.   The true magic of mathematics where the rest is engineering.
