Does anyone know of an API or program for re-writing XPaths?

The particular re-write I want is not the usual one of removing forward
axes--there are several libraries for that--but of getting an XPath with
the final location step as the first step.

I.e.

input:
   a/b/c[@d]/e[@f]

output:
   e[@f][parent::c[@d][parent::b[parent::a]]]

Any pointers?

Cheers
Rick
