I'm really quite intrigued by this thread. Very little has been about 
NVDL (good/bad/indifferent), much about the schema language permathread.

I didn't even see the OP as contentious.

NVDL seems to add another tool to the toolbag. Use it. Ignore it,
pull it out when needed. It works, does what it says on the tin.

Any ideas just why it  generates such a varied response?
