Hi, We want to implement this functionality in Xopus, so I recently asked the same thing: http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/200708/msg00209.html I got no response, so for now I have implemented what I suggested there. But neither of those methods is what you are asking for. If anything comes up I would like to implement that in Xopus too.
