The warning is a requirement in the XSLT 2 spec, that the stylesheet has version="1.0" so runs in backward compatibility mode. If the warning offends then saxon has a -novw command line option to turn it off, or of
course you can modify the stylesheet to have version="2.0".

se a recent discussion between Mike and Rick on this list. the XSLT 2 Basic conformance level mandates that these types are not supported. the Schema-aware conformance level mandates that they are supported.
However the free version of saxon will support these types if you ask for them:
