I could think of some other points, that why XML will be quite popular
even in 2027.

XML is a flexible way to express information, because context and data
are stored together, which means that information is never kept into
rows (data) and columns (context), as it's done in the Relational
model. XML is designed to allow easy interchange of information across
the internet, eliminating barriers imposed by proprietary data
management systems.

Using XML requires no database design. It offers fine grained access
to the database users, as well as the ability to manage unstructured
information familiar to document management system users.
