The mainstream press (not the trade press) is largely uninterested.  In
Seattle, it is local.  It will show up along with other wire releases
because of the gossip angle and because the bloids such as CNet and PCWorld
sell their space.  As issues go, this one has no financial impact yet.
When it does, the results are apparent when governments do as Massachusetts
finally did, evaluate the switching costs and the relative maturity of the
offerings with respect to their own investments. Then they elect to support
choice.

As Sun's head of web technology, is Sun for against choice of technologies
in government procurements?

The evidence supports that statement about as much as it does the

one about press obliviouslness.   The Financial Times, in particular,  
does not
