And the game is called Capitalism. In the US, enforcement of intellectual property rights is entirely the responsibility of the property owner. As far as I can tell, this approach favors the free flow of information. While the vast majority of consumers and producers of such property on the Web are well-behaved citizens, there will always be pigs who want to extract revenue from the flow of information without actually contributing value to it. It seems quite lovely to me that what's in Google's best interest will punish Altova for their bad behavior, without any action from the contributors to this list.
