These were posted to the VOS-D list by Reed Hedges. 
They are not XML-related but may interest some here 
as a system for Internet media not necessarily 
On The Web but not necessarily off it.  One might 
speculate that this work is a firmer grounding 
for distributed digital objects than what one 
finds in the Web architecture, or possibly it 
is an earlier work on the same topics.
