RE: Word table to XML


openoffice table
Doing it for free:
 
1. open the document using OpenOffice
 
2. save it in OpenOffice's own format, which will give it a file extension of sxw
 
3. unzip the content.xml file from the sxw file
 
You'll find any table(s) marked up using elements and attributes from the OpenOffice table namespace, which after a brief glance looks pretty good (for example, it covers cells that span columns).
