In the real world that I live in, people like their databases to remember
all their data, not just "most" of it.

In fact, people already complain about lossiness, e.g. expanding entities
and default attribute values and losing CDATA sections. But throwing away
the namespaces from a configuration file that happens to contain XPath
expressions would definitely lose customers!
