I wonder what the impact will be of the IBM announcement 
of an architecture in which an XML native database and 
a relational database sit side by side.   Anyone know if 
this will be using XQuery?

I think that market adoption of a standard is hugely influenced  by (1) 
a completed standard, and (2) good implementations of that completed 
standard.

If you think a fair comparison can be made without taking these into 
account, I guess we disagree.
