xml binary
Hi xml-dev,

the XBC WG is proud to annouce the publication of the first draft of its
Properties document, which as its name so aptly indicates describes
properties which have been identified as potentially desirable for any
serialization of an XML data model.

Further work in the XML Binary Characterization Working Group will focus
on establishing measurement of the properties that are described here,
to help judge whether XML 1.x and alternate binary encodings provide
those properties, that are required by the previously gathered Use Cases.

The XML Binary Characterization Working Group does not expect this
document to become a Recommendation. Rather, after further development,
review and refinement, it will be published and maintained as a Working
Group Note. Since we are on a tight schedule (only six months to go),
comments are invited sooner rather than later.

Constructive comments should be sent to
public-xml-binary-comments@w... and discussion takes place on the
public-xml-binary@w... list.
