RE: WS-Addressing to W3C: Is the Tide Turning?

RE: WS-Addressing to W3C: Is the Tide Turning?
Of course. The news interviewed Brodie Croyle and he
gives the Tide an excellent chance this season.

Oh... you mean the Other Tide?

One hopes so. Looking at the soft market and the
relative stock prices, I believe it's cooperation
or a fire sale of assets for some of these
companies. Stockholders can be relentless. Been there.

Is it only about money? No, but without that, the
other reasons can't be supported. That isn't a
cynical position. It is hopeful because it means
parties are recognizing that business is not always
about beating the other guy. It does matter how
the game is played.

For those interested in the Web Services specifications/standards
landscape:

It was just announced that the WS-Addressing specification has been
submitted to W3C[1].

Also, somewhat surprisingly given the "vendor dynamics" on such
specifications: The authors include not only Microsoft, IBM, BEA, and
SAP, but...Sun Microsystems.

Is the tide turning?
