RE: JAXB alternatives

xmlbeans vs jaxb
Code binding with schema types which inherit other types isn't very well
supported by many code-binding tools, so use with caution. i'd particularly
advise against extending an 'all' compositor or using 'restriction'.

Castor does appear to have better code binding support for schema than many
of the current commercial WSDL toolkits and you can use it from within
Apache Axis if you compile it from source yourself - documentation how to do
this is bundled with the source.

BEA's recent submission to Apache, XMLBeans also looks very promising.

You might want to check out Castor [1] - however I can't speak to its
support of specific schema constructs vs. JAXB.
