Brilliant-- this makes it work for MSV, Xerces, and MSXML. It also allows it
to pass XSV sort of. Unfortunately XSV seems to have no knowledge of
INF, -INF and NaN. This is referred to slightly in the list of known bugs
(not all simple types supported fully).
