[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] Re: more silly questions
Perhaps Amy was circumspectly trying to direct discussion towards XML and stuff related to XML. XML-DEV serves as an open, unmoderated list supporting XML implementation and development. XML-DEV is for the productive discussion of XML topics. As such, it must remain a place for individuals concerned with XML and its future as an open-source development resource. So far, I haven't seen too much talk of XML. William J. It wouldn't of course. But a redesign of the email protocols could. The fundamental flaw in the system is the assumption that anyone in the world, without proving their identity, has a right to send me garbage and to use the bandwidth that I am paying for. The protocols are wrong because they are designed to implement this wrong assumption. The designers of the modern postal service got it right: the sender, not the recipient, should pay. I still get junk mail through the letterbox, but not 400 a day. Michael Kay
