If the benefits would accrue like interest, that would 
be very cool.  I have my grandfather's full name, my 
Dad's middle name, and my son has the same middle 
name. So "Len Bullard" would be quite ready to retire 
to music at this point.  Wouldn't that be wonderful? 
Y'all would have a lot less mail to delete.

One of the hospital administrators I worked with told the tale of a
family that "passed" the same SSN down through 3 generations of the same
family name.  A case of "if it was good enough for your pappa it's good
enough for you" I guess...
