Checking with Relax NG and passing on (for use in pipes) is what RNV
(http://davidashen.net/rnv.html) does. RNV uses Expat as an XML parser.

cat guide.dbx | rnv -p docbook.rnc  | xslt db2html.xsl > guide.html
