[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] RE: relax ng public list?
On the other hand, what is asked often gets attention. The problem of RELAX NG and evangelism is not that the awareness is low; it is that the tools on most desktops don't support it. Even in the case of XML Schema, a lot of GUI is there to hide it. The dominant use of schema languages is possibly/probably a subset which all of the current schema languages support and the edge cases don't interest the dominant tool vendors. Changing the perception of usefulness of any XML tool or application often involves persuading the "high and mighty". XML-Dev is a good place to do that. It isn't possibly a great place to get corner questions answered. len From: Daniel Veillard [mailto:veillard@r...] If you don't build an identity, it's hard to build a community. This list has a lot of drawback, lot of people won't subscribe to it due to the volume, and precisely the fact that it spans a very wide set of topics. People looking into learning Relax-NG may subscribe to a dedicated list but walk away when looking at xml-dev. This list is rather intimidating for newbies, and that's not really its target either based on the discussion going here. Not having dedicated resources is IMHO an error, that would not prevent discussing or comparing Relax-NG here for those comfortable with xml-dev,
