I've spent years learning about and then fighting off what I consider the pernicious effects of your world on the expectations and tool sets available for mine. Your "unusual" circumstances are my every day, and I don't think they're all that unusual even outside of my office. I don't expect the content of XML to change any time in the near future. There may be alternatives for particular needs (YAML, for instance), but I suspect the development of alternatives rather than change at the core is going to be the likely approach going forward. If you'd personally prefer not to use CDATA sections, you're quite welcome to do that. If you produce tools which ignore CDATA sections, you should probably not expect applause. -- Simon St.Laurent Ring around the content, a pocket full of brackets Errors, errors, all fall down! http://simonstl.com -- http://monasticxml.org
