I was not at all persuaded by the "Sam the XML guy and Kerry the RDF guy" fable. This basic approach can work if it is abstracting out the essence of a lot of real-world cases, but I doubt if those exist for this "RDF kicks raw XML's butt" scenario. That gets to the heart of many people's skepticism about RDF -- it *sounds* like a good idea, but one doesn't see very many people actually reaping all those benefits. Hmm, at the risk of venturing into very flame-ridden territory, the concrete example of RSS tends to point the opposite direction: most bloggers balked at paying the "RDF tax" and tend to stick with XML, or XML- like stuff that one can extract RSS information from anyway. Where are the real-world Kerrys with stories of their greatly enhanced productivity? (well, besides Uche ...). Happily at the pub or at home rather than updating their blogs or ranting on xml-dev about how much of a return they got on their RDF "investment", maybe? :-)
