Hi,

I just started tinkering around with XML recently, so
i might be missing something basic here. I'm trying to
use a org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser to parse an
XML document so that i can perform some DOM tree
manipulations. I'm using the latest xml4j(4.1.4).

import org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser;

DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
parser.parse(filename);

Document document = parser.getDocument();

Things work fine, until i try to call any of the
methods declared in DOMParser and not inherited from
XMLParser, like these:

   parser.setIncludeIgnorableWhitespace(true);
   parser.resetOrCopy();

I get a "cannot resolve symbol" error on compilation.
Am i looking at an older API ? Should i be using JAXP
for the above and if so, why ?

Thanks for your response.
