Yesterday, Ottawa's McDonald Carter International Airport became the site of the first ever XML-themed FlightGear.org fly-in. The event's host, David Megginson thought the attendance was sparse at two. He said, "Next year we'll hope for better attendance, and expect that the FlightGear Fly-In will soon move to the top of everyone's calendar, displacing tired, old ones OshKosh and Sun-n-Fun." In the commemorative photo, http://www.lib.aero/CYOW/flyin.jpg , the attendees are standing next to David's Piper Warrior II. Ari's rented Warrior is in the background. /About David Megginson/: David is a private pilot and a prominent contributer to FlightGear. /About Ari Krupnikov/: After two years as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, Ari is now flying around North America looking for a job as a pilot. Failing that, he will accept an XML-related offer. His resume is at http://www.ltg.ed.ac.uk/~kari/ari.krupnikov.html /About Flightgear/: The FlightGear flight simulator project is an open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight simulator development project distributed under the GNU GPL. It uses XML extensively for and flight model definition and configuration. The project's website is at http://www.flightgear.org
