Hi all, I would like to announce a new release of IPSI-XQ version 1.2.2. "IPSI-XQ is a prototype of an XQuery processor. It is implemented as faithfully as possible along the current W3C Working Drafts. It is available for free for non-commercial usage. It comes along with several user interfaces - a graphical, a command line and web interface - and it has a JAVA API to integrate it into other applications." This version is now based on the working drafts of November 15th. We invested much work in the field of typing - the new so-called named typing. Additionally it offers a new highlighting editor and a hook to add and remove own DOM documents to the query engine. Download this brand new version now at: http://xml.ipsi.fhg.de/xquerydemo Modifications to the last version: - The syntax and semantics is modified to reflect the Working Drafts from 2002-11-15. - Complete named typing support. - Experimental optimization module. - Hook to the document input manager to add and remove own DOM documents. - New syntax highlighting editor for GUI. This version was also presented by Peter Fankhauser at the XML 2002 conference last week. You can find the paper at: http://www.idealliance.org/papers/xml02/dx_xml02/papers/05-01-04/05-01-0 4.html. The presentation shows i.e. the benefit of using a static type system with XML Schema support for the optimization of XQuery. Additionally two new mailing lists are now available. One newsletter list, which will inform about new releases and bug fixes in the future and a forum mailing list, which is the first address to discuss questions and problems about IPSI-XQ. Sign in to these mailing lists at our web site. Best regards, Patrick
