RE: Microsoft on XML
>Actually, I'm quite definitely not interested in marketing blather. Sorry. I thought it was really great that he singled out XML. I haven't heard them market a non-Microsoft technology before and haven't seen the commercials you are referring to. I respect your opinion and will think twice before putting up pure marketing info again, even if it is XML. If I decide to put something up that contains technical info but also has some marketing fluff in it then I'll only put a one line URL instead of a few paragraphs. Is that better, or do you think even a one line URL isn't appropriate? Pam Ammond Empowering You! website: http://www.empoweringyou.com Please check out the "Wow! Actually, I'm quite definitely not interested in marketing blather. If Steve Ballmer suddenly has something to say at the level of XML this list typically discusses, I'll be happy to see it - perhaps Mr. Ballmer might take some time from his busy schedule to discuss it. In the meantime, I think most of us have gotten used to seeing XML used in commercials ("he doesn't know what XML is") and cited in popular magazines (Scientific American, Business Week, The Economist, Forbes, etc.) that we don't need to be reminded that the technical work we do lights up business people's pipes. ------------- Simon St.Laurent - SSL is my TLA http://simonstl.com may be my URI http://monasticxml.org may be my ascetic URI urn:oid:220.127.116.11.4.1.6320 is another possibility altogether ----------------------------------------------------------------- The xml-dev list is sponsored by XML.org <http://www.xml.org>, an initiative of OASIS <http://www.oasis-open.org> The list archives are at http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/ To subscribe or unsubscribe from this list use the subscription manager: <http://lists.xml.org/ob/adm.pl>
