push pull model
FYI, Microsoft has a series of video seminars called
Online Seminars on Programming XML in the .NET Framework.

The seminars talk about the push, pull, and sax models and their
differences; then goes into xmltextwriter, xpath, xslt, schema and
serialization.

See details at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q326069

or just look up knowledgebase article # Q326069 or search for the
seminar title.
