Hi,

My name is Wilbert Jackson and I am CEO of company called 4vision, Inc. We
have developed a couple of innovative geospatial products that utilize SVG
heavily to enable users of any computer skill levels to create distributed
geospatial applications. Through the use of SVG, and a patent pending
design, any user interface built with our Fusion Editor becomes a multimedia
compound document. The Fusion Editor enables users to easily build
geospatial applications by providing easy to use services that fuse data
from a wide range of data sources and present these data sets in an easy to
use interface. In addition to interactive services, since the designed
application models a document, standard document services, such as editing,
saving, sharing, etc. are provided for the user to manage the application.

Our Fusion Server is a small footprint multithreaded server, which can
operate as a stand alone Web server, or as an embedded server (embedded, in
a browser, small handheld devices, sensors, printers, etc.) provides a range
of OpenGIS geospatial services, and XML Schema translation services. Example
services includes an XML Native database, GML to SVG translating, geospatial
data synthesizing and fusion services that consolidate data from a wide
range of desperate data sources into SVG data sets.

We are targeting our products at the world of distributed geospatial
libraries and services that permit users of any skill level to create their
own geospatial applications. We believe these types of applications will be
represented by the supply of information in response to a geographically
defined need.

Example pilots we have developed include:

- Community based applications that enable any user to obtain a base map,
and then build a Crime Mapping application. This application provides
location based (GPS Tracks) information that the users gathers based upon
information categories defined by the communities as whole. All independent
community applications dynamically synthesis and fuse information on a
peer-to-peer bases to create a grid map that can be easily accessed and
viewed by anyone with an SVG Viewer. Police officials, town officials,
politicians could each enhance the grid by providing their own annotated
applications overlays that all community users can interact with.

- Community based applications that enable community users to remotely
participated in environmental programs, and civil infrastructure and
emergency preparedness and response programs. Some features and approaches
apply as with the above example.

We believe that public access to geoinformation about local areas
(neighborhood, city, county region) can help to develop a more informed
citizenry, improve opportunities for participation in the democratic
process, and help fulfill the governments mandate to provide more streamline
services and easy access services for all citizens.

SVG has enabled use to move these ideas forward into products that are easy
to use, based standards, and cost effective.
