But we may want to dissociate resources which provide a service and
other resources.

Hmmm... this must be because I am not a native speaker and have been
confused by translations back and forward between English and French but
we do have the problem in French where "Web service" is translated into
"service Web", a term which was used before to refer to any service on
the web (a webmail system is often refered as a "service web" for
instance).

Now, lingusitic aspects aside, the definition from the W3C seems to
indicate that:

1) A SOAP service which isn't described using a XML vocabulary isn't a
"web service".

2) A REST service described with let's say RDF is a "web service".

This would be quite surprising for most, I think.
