If it's the kind of stuff that fits in relational tables...numbers, single words, filled out forms, then the conventional database is what you want. If on the other hand you've got textual reports, "semi-structured" data, where the best way to fish it out would be a context sensitive full text search, then the native xml database is probably what you want.
