Two amusing quotes from an IBM guy on the CNET story on XML 1.1 at http://news.com.com/2100-1001-962392.html?tag=fd_top_8 "This is a subset of (XML's) whole lack of good Unicode support" and "..the line-break issue ... was the result of IBM's having been left out of the original group that wrote the XML 1.0 specification." Talk about pathetic. In what way was IBM "left out" of XML 1.0? The XML spec was full of ex-IBMers, and IBM could have joined the W3C WG at any time it wanted. Indeed, GML and SGML came out of IBM: if they dropped the ball on mrkup languages, don't blame other people. As for XML's "whole lack of good Unicode support"... Cheers Rick Jelliffe
