It could be.  Generally, something that is simpler 
and easier to explain has a way of winning in an 
ecology of competing codes.

Let's see where the community takes this.  In a 
world in which the leaders still haven't figured 
out that URI == RESOURCE is a claim to have solved 
Schroedinger's Equation for the web, I am always 
glad to see a simplifying assumption.
