Right. Its CORBA all over again except significantly less well done.
CORBA was tightly coupled systems over loosely coupled wires.
This tight coupling is precisely how not to create web services in
my opinion and yet it is precisely where PSVI/Value Space XML leads
us.

I suspect the trouble is that too many people out there think that CORBA
did not fly because it was too heavy and that the new XML based stuff
will because it is lighter.

Maybe they are right but I doubt it. CORBA did not fly because it successfully
designed away the network allowing you to create tightly coupled, monolithic
systems that functioned over long wires :-/
