Is that right? I misread "end handler" for "error handler" in my post a minute ago. But still, the second form shouldn't be causing an error, for it's perfectly good xml. It could have a whitespace node that the first doesn't, but the MS parser likes to strip those out anyway. Cheers, Tom P
