Yep, with decent state management, XPP is a detour. I take the
argument that it's easy to understand, but the typecodes...Anyway
if XPP is going to be standard, this is surely preferable to
exposing typecodes, token objects notwithstanding, which is where
I'm going with StartTag, EndTag etc. XPP needs to look at
tokenization more closely.
