As for the first point, I think you really need a few years to see how successful a technology will be in the marketplace, and what problems it causes in practice. That's why I chose technologies I consider very well established. One of the ramifications of new technologies is you simply don't know right away how successful they will be. Personally, I think that XQuery and Web Services will also turn out to be real successes, but we shouldn't proclaim that until after the marketplace has adopted them. Jonathan
