[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] RE: New to XML
XML-Dev is often not the easiest place to learn the basics but it is in my experience the best place to get questions answered that involve emerging parts of the technology being considered for specifications. For example, despite the redirection to the www-tag list for answers to a question about a one page definition for documents on the web, the question was answered here, not there. We may debate the answers for awhile and that usually exposes issues that the authors of the document may need to consider. I think that many of the web and Internet architecture questions are better answered here and evolve here. For anyone learning XML and wants to have an impact on the futures of the technology, this is an excellent list to lurk on and a place to learn. Just be aware that a wide range of topics and styles are tolerated here. But if you really are new to XML, do spend some time in the widely available tutorials and perhaps pick up a book or two with programming examples in your favorite language.
