technical book royalties
A slightly better honorarium can be had for writing a chapter
on some knotty subject. It can be a blow to later discover
that while one is paid and might even be thanked in the
credits, no authoring credit is acknowledged and certainly
no royalties.

Again, get all the information up front.

About 1/10th of the author's honorarium, but unlike authors, tech
editors seldom get royalties, so it varies with sales.
