A long time ago I wrote it like this on a wall 
at the oldeIntergraph:  We build the tools to 
build the tools and sell the tools we build. 

Then that market went to MS.  There ain't no 
money in the core technologies.  That is why 
open source found a niche and the rest of us 
went on to working in deeper niches.
