Want to find more updated stuff about Published Subjects?
Stay tuned with OASIS Topic Maps Published Subjects Technical Committee
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tm-pubsubj/index.shtml

You will see that we are struggling now to refine definitions and set recommendations.
See particularly (still in the working, new release TBD those days)

Just a remark. A "subject indicator", or "subject definition resource" - depending if you
consider the viewpoint of the publisher or the one of the user, e.g. topic map author -
can identify *any* kind of subject, be it real-world individual object, concept, notion
... whatever can be "reified" by a <topic> element in a topic map.

Hope that helps.
