You mentioned in an earlier note that you are much more productive in creating web pages with dreamweaver than you could be with XML+XSLT. The reason that dreamweaver exists is tha 'hype' that surrounded HTML. In the early/mid nineties Microsoft (with all its resources) failed with its proprietary online information authoring tool codenamed 'blackbird.' Yet as HTML standardized and gathered steam and users, others successfully created viable authoring tools. With any standard, one of the great benefits is tool support. Even if you cannot find benefit with XML today, enough of us have found it valuable and are using it that the tools will most certainly evolve. Perhaps soon it will be valuable. > 3. XML is not easy. This is not much different from the comments heard in the early days of HTML. 'It's easy to work with. But impossible to get my company's look and feel without chopping up all sorts of custom graphics and building nested tables that are impossible to deal with. It may be the tools that made that possible. But there had to be a valuable underlying technology before the tools were created. David
