Title: RE: Web Services Best Practice (was: Interesting XML-DI ST-APP thread) It is
awfully easy with MS Access to build a database that works
fine
locally, and won't scale. The GUI tool is a boon though. We
get
hundreds of requests for ad hoc querying for our systems. We
tell
them that a third party report generator (Access, Crystal Reports, etc)
is the
way to go. ODBC is a pretty nice idea all things being equal.
While
not DBAs, many of our customers really shouldn't
need
to understand everything they are doing; they should understand
what
they need to do.
But if
the schema document [expletive deleted], even that falls apart.
