Hey Rene, Maybe you will find Philipp Lenssen's work useful: http://www.outer-court.com/tech/asp_sitemap.htm It reads the file system (you pick the root dir, extensions, exclusions etc), gives an XML representation and finally renders it to the browser. You can modify any layer to suit your needs, I highly recommend this one. One thing though. Phil has made this to be highly configurable and generalised, but it's rather slow for large file systems. By making modifications and keeping what you need, you should have something a lot faster. Hope this helps, Manos > -----Original Message----- > From: Rene de Vries [mailto:RdVries@P...] > Sent: Wednesday, July 11, 2001 12:27 PM > To: 'xml-dev@l...' > Subject: Do you know a tool for putting directory-file-info into an > xml-file? > > > Hi, > > What I want is a tool that does the following: > * lets me select a directory > * write an xml-file with file-info (path, date, time, > size, attributes, etc.) of all the files in that directory > and subdirectories > > Do you know one? > > Greetings Rene > { @ @ } > ^ > \__/ > > "You don't need eyes to see, you need vision!" > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------ > The xml-dev list is sponsored by XML.org, an initiative of OASIS > <http://www.oasis-open.org> > > The list archives are at http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/ > > To unsubscribe from this elist send a message with the single word > "unsubscribe" in the body to: xml-dev-request@l... >
