The issue is when technical elegance at the material 
level of code conflicts with the colonization of the 
information itself.  In short, even if technically 
inelegant, in the time-forward evolution of the 
system, markup is now a winner and successfully 
reproducing at an accelerating rate.  On the issue of  
medium and message, McLuhan was exactly wrong.

Never confuse elegance with popularity.  Bach
