The logic breaks down if the "level of invalidity" is variable, which for most XML schema languages, it isn't. For example, you can imagine a schema langauge which advises people not to place an element somewhere, and gives a "50%" no-no level. Then, to say that schemata are the same, you'd have to say that all levels are the same, which you couldn't do if you were constraining with a langauge which doesn't allow levels (you'd have to set it at 100% or 0%). -- Kindest Regards, Sean B.
