I have spent a little time working on a light-weight framework for
extracting, munging and otherwise processing metadata in a variety of
formats from a variety of sources.

The results of this are available in the form of a Java API which you can
grab from [1]. The Java implementation includes modules for stripping
arbitrary metadata from XML, and content from META tags in HTML. It also
includes modules which can write RDF or XTM models of agreggated metadata.

Comments and suggestions for additional processing modules welcome.

Cheers,

Kal
