Seeing as I'll have to set aside two bits anyway, I'll make that 1,2,4,X -
where X means a length byte followed by 2^(length byte plus 3) bytes of
number. That ought to last us until computer storage exists using
overlapping quantum states in hyperspace. One hopes.
