The fun but weird thing about taking a few days 
of vacation is to come back to email from a thread 
one starts and see how it has evolved from the 
original.  Looks like I have to sort a lot of 
stuff out.  It seems to have transmogrified into 
Plan 9 of the Why the W3C Is (choose 
one of n annual threads) thread.

Gad.   The spec isn't wrong; it has  
hyperbolic prose that cries for a bit of 
joshing.  So much for stand up comedy as a late 
career for me.
